Introduction
The CodeBoy "PUP" iambic keyers are full featured keyers in a very small size. They offer a speed range of 10 to 40 words per minute, selective iambic A or B operation, dot and dash memory, paddle and straight key (or bug) input , selective autospace on straight key (or bug), de-bouncing of all inputs, built-in voltage regulator and transistor output for either positive or negative keying (not both simultaneously). The CodeBoy "PUP" is available in two versions, the PUP/C1 and the PUP/C2. The PUP/C1 uses the popular RAC C1S CMOS keyer chip and provides the potential of very low standby power operation when operated directly from batteries. It also provides space compensation. The PUP/C2 uses the RAC C2 CMOS keyer chip and provides a low cost way to obtain a high performance iambic keyer. Standby current is approximately 1 mA and operating current is approximately 4 mA. Both versions are PC board kits complete with all components including connectors but less power supply and enclosure. The units are 1 1/4W x 1 3/4L X 1/2H excluding connectors. The connectors can be eliminated if desired, wiring directly to input/output pads. The units are ideal for building into existing transmitters and transceivers. Power can be "borrowed" from the equipment into which the units are installed.
